Set on 62 acres and pet friendly the property which takes you away from city life and helps you to slow down and enjoy nature at its own pace.

Red Gum Cottage is your home away from home. Enjoy a drink on the balcony and watch the sheep and cows meander past, take a stroll along the two miles of river bank, fish for trout, swim at our private sandy beach, and in the evening, with crystal clear skies, enjoy some stargazing, then curl up to sleep to the sounds of the river below.

Whether you're on your honeymoon, celebrating a special occasion ,meeting up with family and friends on a fishing or skiing holiday or just looking for an unforgettable spot to relax and recharge your batteries, then Red Gum Cottage is for you.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave etc., separate dining room, lounge room with TV, DVD, VCR, and CD player. Full reverse cycle air conditioning and a laundry with washing machine and dryer. You have a huge balcony with BBQ and outdoor setting overlooking the river below.

A CD, video, DVD, and book library is available at no charge so you can pick a movie or movies to watch and just return on your departure. We have a good selection for both adults and children.

There is nothing to bring except groceries (linen and towels included) which can be purchased here in Tumut as we have both Coles and Woolworths Supermarkets (open to midnight).

Interested in learning to go 'fly fishing'. enquire about our special package deals for beginners and experienced fishermen.

Gift baskets can be organised for that special occasion. Just let us know what you would like and we will arrange to have it in the cottage for your arrival.

Locality

Red Gum Cottage is located approximately half way between Sydney and Melbourne. The property is 14kms from the township of Tumut nestled in the magnificent Goobarragandra Valley, and just 30 kms to KNP and 90kms from Mt. Selwyn ski resort.

The Tumut Region offers activities for everyone year round, from skiing at Mt Selwyn in winter, to fishing, kayaking, and all water sports in summer.

Fishing - the Goobarragandra River offers some of the most beautiful spots to enjoy a day trout fishing along with the Tumut River and Blowering Dam stocked with yellowbelly and cod and freshwater lobsters.

Kosciusko National Park, Yarrangobilly Caves, Buddong Falls, Talbingo with the Tumut 3 Power Station, Batlow famous for its apple and stonefruit orchards, Adelong a heritage town famous for its goldming past are all just 40 minutes from Elm Cottage.

Tumbarumba with its wineries, the Boggy Creek show and the Berry Farm reknown for its pancakes are an hour from the property.

Go bushwalking along the famous Hume and Hovell walking track or try a more challenging walk through the high country in Kosciusko National Park, mountain bike riding, hang gliding or play a game of golf at Tumut's picturesque yet challenging 18 hole golf course.

Mt. Selwyn snowfields offers 13 lifts toboganning, cross country skiing and is regarded as the perfect ski resort to "learn to ski" with runs to suit first timers, intermediates and the more advanced skier.

Privacy, peace and tranquility assured. Wonderful birdlife, and to see a wombat, echnida and platypus in their natural habitat is regarded by many of our guests as a special experience.

We have sheep agisting on the property so if the sheep are at the northern end then take your dog to the southern part of the property. We have 62 acres and 2 miles of river, so there is plenty of room to run, play and swim.
