Holiday house


The owners use this property for their own family and friends and, as such, it is designed for maximum comfort and convenience. Details include: 2 main queensize bedrooms, one triple and one triple with a double lower bunk. Doonas & pillows are provided - BYO linen.
The games room which has billiards, table tennis, air-hockey and a second tv and ipod/stereo system offers a great extra living space and faces out to a BBQ and entertaining area.
Mod cons in the main house inc. a stylish open living area with tv, dvd, reverse cycle and sound system.
The kitchen is set-up for easy catering for 10 with lots of extra touches (eg. coffee brewer, slow cooker, modern fridge/pantry/dishwasher etc.) Just bring the food.
There is instantaneous hotwater for a soak in the bath and the laundry has a large washing-machine and dryer and the second bathroom (outside) is great for a rinse after the beach.
There is a quiet beach and small boat-ramp at the end of the street and when the fisherman get home there is an outside fish-cleaning sink so they can bring the fish in filleted!
Portarlington shops and the main foreshore are under 10 minutes walk away and there are great family-friendly cafes/bakeries available.
For a surf just head down to Point Lonsdale(20 mins) or Ocean Grove (25 mins) or to Queenscliffe for a trip on the Ferry.
The local beaches are off-lead for dogs all year around - please refer to our pet policy for further details.

Locality


Portarlington is a lovely seaside town with great north-facing protected kid-friendly beaches offering swimming, fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, cycling etc. There are some terrific cafes and bakeries available with top quality produce (such as local Portarlington mussels) as well as a variety of convenient local takeaways. There is a monthly market and various annual festivals (such as the Mussel festival & the Celtic Festival).
Looking out across the bay the sun rises over the distant Melbourne skyline and sets past the You Yang mountains.

The Portarlington Beachhouse offers families an opportunity to relax in a clean & comfortable setting which is within easy reach of beaches, cafes and local walks. The beach-house is set-up with maximum comfort and minimum fuss in mind.
Fisherman will love the property as well as it is designed specifically around their needs. The balconies offer opportunity to study the weather from morning till night or its a quick stroll down the road to check the fishing conditions. There is generous parking in the driveway and on the wide and quiet street.
The community is very dog-friendly and we welcome dogs over 12 months to our beautiful off-lead beaches. Please refer to our pet policy prior to booking.

Beach is at the end of the street - quiet and secluded. Small boat ramp at end of street as well - ideal for fishing, snorkelling, kayaking. Bike track along the beach. 20 mins by car to Queenscliffe, Point Lonsdale. 25 to Ocean Grove/Barwon Heads for surfing.

Small boatramp at end of the street - larger ones available nearby. Plenty of parking available for boats/vehicles on wide street and in driveway. Outdoor fish-cleaning sink in back-yard with good lighting for late night fishing. Owners love fishing - ask for local fishing advise.

Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted, Pets are permitted outside only, Secure, fully fenced running area.

Fully-fenced large garden area. Sheltered balcony around three sides of the house. 2 dog limit and no dogs under 12 months. (No cats or other pets). Dogs may sleep in the laundry at night but otherwise strictly not allowed indoors. BYO pet bedding, bowls, toys etc. $100.00 fully refundable pet bond required (to be returned post-inspection and retained in case of costs incurred for cleaning or repairs). All doggie-doodoo to be picked up and removed by tenants and please be mindful of neighbours and actively manage any excessive barking or anti-social behaviours. The property is 500m to off-lead dog beaches and the local community is generally very doggie friendly - doggie heaven!!
