This is a great place for kids, lots of animals and real food to eat. The farmstay cottage is 200 m from our home in a 4 acre hazelnut grove with views of Mt. Arthur... private and rural. We are centrally located as well - lots to do in the North East and Tamar regions ask us for more info...
The farmstay cottage is fully self-contained, bedding and towels supplied and the price includes a selection of veggies from the garden and a care package of provisions to start you off including some of our honey comb and local Lilydale bread.

The village of Lilydale is a 15 min walk and there there are all the usual services.

(built in 2000) it has two bedrooms: one is queen-size and the other can be either two singles or a king-size. There is a pull-out, fully sprung sofa bed too. The facilities include everything you need... fully equipped modern kitchen, laundry, shower, electric blankets and heater. We have also have a portacot.

The accommodation is on our farm where we grow veggies, berries, nuts and have fruit trees and hens, ducks and geese - pony, cat hens etc. Bandicoots can occasionally be seen at night.

Locally we have the Yondover Goat Cheese factory and cafe and The Leaning Church gormet food experience.

Languages spoken: Esperanto(Conversation)

This was the best place we found in our Tasmanian trip. The kids had a fabulous time with all the animals, it was just what we came to Tasmania to experience... real, friendly and a superb location.

Lilydale. 20 mins NE of Launceston.
From Launceston - take the A 8 towards George Town - Lilydale sign turn right B 81 Lilydale for 2km then right Lilydale B 81 for 25 km left on Lalla C822 for 1 km. We have a big sign on the left.
Look for a row of 20 poplar trees and drive left up to the white house with the terrace and carpark reception sales...
10 mins from Hollybank Treetops Adventure.

Property

A self-contained modern unit set in a hazelnut grove of 250 trees and 3 terraced dams opposite to family home built 1870. Lawn tennis or other games available.

Our cottages are on a farm and both have a ramp or stairs option into the cottages and no steps inside. Probably not suitable for wheelchairs on the farm.

Lilydale has an art school lessons or classes can be aranged for an extra charge. We can also link you up with our neighbor's silk painting class. Music and art are part of our theme/ culture here with sculpture park in the gardens and songs by the fire side. Please make sure you request these activities specifically for you family to join in. We always need scarecrow and kite makers. Lots of Painters and Potters in the area.

Cherry top has solar panels. We are growing food here gardening a Community Supported Agriculture project. Growing Hazelnuts and Blueberries + seasonal veg..

Portacot available, Plastic crockery and cutlery available for children, Games/videos for children under 5 available, Games/videos for children between 5 and 12 available, Games/videos for children over 12 available, Children's playground equipment, Babysitting services can be arranged.

We have a climbing tree and tree house in the Macrocarpas. Swings and a tennis court. Tipi too. :)

Pet friendly

Cats are permitted, Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted, Pets are permitted inside, Secure, fully fenced running area, Bedding/sleeping area provided.

Our cottages are on a farm there is a fence around a 7 acre block. Pets are not allowed in the bedrooms. Pets can be in the laundry area or outside covered area. Up to pet owners to judge what works for them.
Obviously if they are alowed indide and don't damage furniture at home they will be o.k. here. There are ducks which wander around and don't fly so a lead would be sensible. Same with horses if they are in the area leads are sensible.
