Holiday house

Kuranda Villas is the only fully self-contained holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Kuranda making it an ideal location for single travellers, couples, families or friends.

Centrally located at 12 Barang Street, Kuranda Villas is within walking distance of all the attractions within the village of Kuranda.

There are so many exciting attractions to experience in Kuranda and on the Atherton Tableland that it makes sense to spend a few days enjoying life in this glorious part of the world.

Since June 2009 we have had a rainforest tree planted for every confirmed booking we receive as a way of reducing our carbon footprint.

Villa 1 has two bedrooms and is comfortable, fully furnished and self-contained.

At Christmas there is a decorated tree in the villa to put presents around.

Ceiling fans are located throughout the villa.

Electric blankets are supplied in the cooler months of the year, if required, and a heater is located in the lounge/dining room.

There is a full kitchen with all the necessary crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and pots and pans. We supply some basic provisions for your comfort and to help you settle in on your arrival, such as extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper, sugar, locally grown Nerada tea and locally grown and roasted coffee from the Kuranda Rainforest Coffee. Complimentary Port is provided.

A compost bin is provided for disposing of fruit and vegetable matter, egg shells, tea bags and coffee grounds.

There is a TV and DVD player, as well as a CD/radio system.

There is a patio with BBQ and outdoor table and chairs in a private garden. There is also an aluminium can crusher on the wall outside the back door so that we can recycle the aluminium cans.

There is a safe covered parking area and there are security screens on the windows and doors.

We are both grateful for the quiet, peaceful accommodation. The villa is very clean and tidy, it has everything in it just like home. Found the washing machine and dryer extremely convenient. Close to all the shops and tourist things. We stayed 14 short days and we will return. Kuranda and the rainforests are the most beautiful places we have seen in the world.
Diane & Gary, December 2011/January 2012

Kuranda

The village is located in the rainforest 330 metres above sea level in the Cairns Highlands. The climate is cooler and much less humid than on the coast and just 30 km from Cairns up the scenic Kuranda Range Road with views overlooking the Great Barrier Reef.

Kuranda was founded in 1876 and inhabited by the Djabugay aboriginal people. Tourism began in the area at the beginning of the twentieth century and became very popular in the 1960's with the "hippie" generation for it offered a fabulous location for their alternative lifestyle.

Kuranda is surrounded by World Heritage listed wet tropics rainforest with approximately 1,200 species of flowering plants, 800 of which are rainforest trees. There are over 430 bird species in the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef, which makes Kuranda Villas the perfect base for birdwatching and wildlife tours in the area.
