Cottage

Bonnie Doon Cottage offers very comfortable accommodation on a self catering basis for up to four people at very affordable rates. The cottage is cosy and fully equipped and there is a caretaker who lives on site for added security. The cottage is nestled into low trees on the mouth of the estuary and it is here, that the 300km long Blackwood River joins the sea and where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet at Cape Leeuwin. The Augusta area as a whole, offers many great attractions for the young at heart. Whale watching, fishing, river trips, wildflowers, water sports or maybe a leisurely game of golf. The area presents to you a myriad of events and places to visit, such as mainland Australia's tallest lighthouse, famous Karri forests, ancient caves and miles of pristine, beach, to walk, just by stepping out the front door. Wining and dining in the famous Margaret River region is only 30 mins away by car but you may of course, just prefer to spend your leisure hours sitting in a deck-chair on the river-bank sketching, painting, reading
or watching the dolphins in the Bay with a glass of local wine.
Check-in time is after 3pm and check-out is before 10am. Later check-out time can be requested and will be accommodated where possible.

Property

Although the property extents to the waterfront, it is not possible to launch a boat or dingy into the inlet from Bonnie Doon. There is, however, a public boat ramp at the Colourpatch, very close by. Canoes and other light water craft can be easily launched from the boardwalk which is in front of the cottage. If you have a boat, please park it on the lawn behind the caretaker's house.. Bonnie Doon Cottage is beyond this point, closer to the water. No boats are to be taken beyond the limestone driveway. Bonnie Doon is one of the last properties along the estuary to own the land right up to the high water mark. This has allowed the privacy of our guests not to be compromised by pedestrian traffic. .
